Pauline, 74 had been living next door but one to her daughter Jo in a village locally. Moving to Deben Grange was a big decision, but one she’s so happy she made as it’s given her the freedom to enjoy her retirement in a way she wants to.
She moved to Debden Grange in the summer of 2021. One of the best things Pauline has found since she moved is she now has an extended family. Not only do her daughter Jo, and her grandson Josh visit her regularly, but she now has a wider family among all the residents in the community. There’s so much to do and get involved with, she’s made a number of new friends
One of the benefits Pauline has discovered is that she doesn’t need to drive living in the community either. She’s able to get her nails and hair done at the wellness centre in the village. Plus the thriving social life has her at bridge club, bingo, and quiz evenings, so she’s never short of things to do. Although Debden Grange is located on the edge of the village of Newport, so an easy walk to the shops if she did choose to pop out.
Reflecting on her move to Debden Grange Pauline comments, “I’m so happy here in the community. It’s just like a big family. Everyone is so kind and helpful. I’m really settled.”
