Meet Paulina, Head of Housekeeping at The Wyldewoods

As we eagerly anticipate the opening of The Wyldewoods, we are excited to introduce you to one of our essential team members, Paulina Zielinska, our Head of Housekeeping. With extensive experience in the industry and a commitment to creating a welcoming environment, Paulina is poised to lead our housekeeping team to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness for our residents, staff, and visitors.

What brought Paulina to The Wyldewoods?

Originally from Poland, Paulina has been a Chester resident since 2006. Most of her career has been dedicated to cleaning roles, particularly in nursing homes. In 2022, she embraced a new challenge as Head Housekeeper at Belong, an intergenerational care village in Chester. This role served as a catalyst for discovering retirement village living, ultimately leading her to join The Wyldewoods as Housekeeping Team Leader.

As team leader, Paulina will begin hiring her team over the coming months and will also train them. “I wanted to start a new challenge, and I’m really looking forward to building my team from scratch,” she shares. With her extensive background in housekeeping, Paulina is eager to showcase her skills and experience as she works to create a clean and inviting environment for the community.

What a typical day looks like

Paulina’s day will begin with reviewing the cleaning schedule, assigning tasks to her team, and conducting routine checks to ensure all communal areas are clean and well-presented. She will order supplies and ensure her team has everything they need to perform their jobs effectively. Paulina’s focus will be on delivering exceptional housekeeping services while fostering a positive and collaborative atmosphere among her staff.

Paulina brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her role at The Wyldewoods. Her strong leadership skills, excellent organisational abilities, and attention to detail set her apart. “I have a strong understanding of the best practices in cleaning and the importance of maintaining a safe and hygienic environment,” she explains. She believes in creating a supportive environment that encourages open communication and teamwork, which ultimately contributes to a positive experience for residents and staff alike.

Why housekeeping matters: Paulina's perspective

For Paulina, the most rewarding aspect of her job is witnessing the immediate results of her efforts. She values customer satisfaction, and for her, making people happy is the perfect reward for her dedication. “I love knowing that my work helps create a comfortable and welcoming space for everyone.”

Life outside of The Wyldewoods

Outside of her professional life, Paulina enjoys traveling, baking, and horse riding. She also enjoys her daily commute to work to get some exercise – a brisk 30 minute walk!
