A Day in the Life of the General Manager
No two days are ever the same for Adam! His role revolves around making sure the team is in place, delivering an exceptional experience, and ensuring everything runs smoothly. Adam oversees events, helps with planning, and works tirelessly to maintain a warm and welcoming environment. His goal is to keep the atmosphere positive, productive, and exciting for both residents and guests alike.
For Adam, the most exciting part of his job is inviting people in to experience the warmth and sense of community at The Wyldewoods. Adam finds it incredibly rewarding to watch people discover the space, engage in events, and form meaningful connections with others.
Adam’s Journey to The Wyldewoods
Adam’s passion for hospitality and creating spaces where people feel connected and at home has shaped his entire career. With years of experience in restaurants, team management, and venue openings, he thrives on bringing communities to life. Before joining The Wyldewoods, Adam spent 5.5 years as the General Manager at The Chimes in Cheadle, Manchester, where he played a key role in launching and running the venue. His experience reinforced the importance of a people-first approach, something he carries into every aspect of his leadership.
When Adam learned about The Wyldewoods, he immediately saw it as the perfect fit—a chance to blend his love for hospitality with his desire to make a meaningful impact on people’s lives. Having lived in Chester for seven years, he was eager to contribute to a community he already considered home. The opportunity to create an environment where residents feel truly welcome and engaged was exactly the challenge he was looking for.

Adam’s approach to leadership is centred around making things personable and ensuring the team feels supported. He believes that the community at The Wyldewoods is everything, so he prioritises team-building and making sure everyone feels valued. Adam is also a natural problem-solver and takes pride in providing peace of mind to both his team and the residents.
The Most Rewarding Part of Adam’s Job
The most rewarding part of Adam’s role is watching the connections people make and the friendships that blossom. There’s nothing more fulfilling than seeing someone come in and form new relationships, knowing that the team’s efforts helped make that possible.
Adam finds working in senior living especially rewarding because it allows him to create lasting, positive experiences for residents. It’s not just about planning one-off events; it’s about enriching people’s everyday lives and being part of a community that genuinely makes a difference.
The most rewarding part of my job is seeing people walk through the doors, make new connections, and truly feel at home. That’s when we know we’ve created something special.
Life Outside of Work
Outside of managing The Wyldewoods, Adam enjoys spending time with his wife and their energetic 3-year-old daughter, and Labradoodle. Weekends are often spent exploring Chester, walking along the canal, riding bikes, or embarking on mini adventures in their campervan. Adam is also a self-proclaimed wine buff and has a passion for living sustainably. Adam enjoys preloved shopping, making eco-friendly choices, and has an impressive collection of 100 ties in his wardrobe!
