MP calls for more retirement schemes like Roseland Parc
Copy linkStamp duty reform to free up the housing chain, transparent fees and care home funding were on the agenda when MP for Truro and Falmouth Sarah Newton called in to meet staff and residents at Roseland Parc, a private retirement village in Tregony.
The MP, pictured here (centre left) with our Group Care Director David Thomas, Regional Sales Manager Kerry Richardson and Village Manager Simon Baird, chatted to staff before sitting down with residents to discuss retirement life in this unique setting.
“Given the ageing demographic across the county, I am passionate about proper levels of housing provision in both the private and public sectors,” she said. “Roseland is a fine example of private retirement living and I am sure the next phase of development will provide more of the same.
“This scheme is more than just accommodation. It’s a lifestyle that aids future well being which is essential. I’m keen to support projects of this nature and will do all I can within Government to help eliminate any hurdles that prevent similar schemes from happening within my constituency.”
David Thomas, Group Care Director for Retirement Villages Group which owns and operates the village, said afterwards: “The fact Sarah found time in her diary to visit Roseland Parc reflects her commitment to supporting the senior population here in Cornwall.
“Her knowledge of the issues facing this kind of purpose-built development was very refreshing and, as a company, we look forward to working closer with her in the future.”
Roseland Parc offers a range of one and two bedroom independent living retirement apartments and cottages with communal facilities for the exclusive use of residents including restaurant, swimming pool, bar, lounge, sun terrace, landscaped palm garden, croquet lawn, library, and hairdressing salon. A range of care services are also available on site.
