A fantastic year for Retirement Villages Group Ltd (RVG)

Christmas has most definitely arrived at our 14 retirement villages across the UK; the Christmas decorations are up and mince pies and mulled wine are at the ready.

And as our residents prepare themselves for a December full of festive cheer, it seems pertinent we recap on what has been a truly fantastic year for Retirement Villages Group Ltd (RVG) and our staff and residents. Here are some of our most memorable milestones in 2017 and some of the exciting events we are looking forward to in 2018…..

A new owner

An important event in the 2017 calendar was the acquisition of RVG by AXA IM Alt – Real Assets, a global leader in real asset investments and the leading real estate portfolio and asset manager in Europe. The well-established Retirement Villages’ brand will be retained and operated autonomously to continue its smooth operation.

Multi million pound project completed at Elmbridge

Elmbridge Village, our private retirement community in Cranleigh was given a makeover earlier in the year. As part of this major investment, a new clubhouse was built for the exclusive use of residents. The new clubhouse, named Elmbridge Manor is now a major new asset to the village, providing residents with a social centre with a concert hall, restaurant, private dining room, bar and lounge, library, shop and surgery. Rather excitingly, ‘Arun House’ is also due to launch in early spring next year, a small new development of luxury properties (including pent-house apartments!) at Elmbridge Village.

National recognition for Charters

Charters Village, in West Sussex is also celebrating a fantastic year, having very recently received a highly commended award for the Best Retirement Scheme at the Housebuilder Awards 2017. Charters Village manager Nigel Walter commented: “I’m extremely proud to see Charters Village commended in yet another top industry award. To be recognised in this way is a real testament to the village, the excellence of our staff, our superb build quality and our fantastic residents.”

New faces at The Polo Field

Lime Tree Village is also bringing the year to a close on a high, having gained many new residents who are snapping up properties at the new Polo Field development within the village. Village Manager Patrick also became a father to a baby girl this December. Hear more from Patrick or meet some of Lime Tree’s newest residents.

New retirement projects in the pipeline

Roseland Parc Retirement Village in Tregony, Cornwall and Moat Park Retirement Village in Essex are both looking ahead to 2018 in anticipation. New developments at both sites are set to launch in early spring, not only providing further housing for retirees in their respective areas but attracting new residents who will support local businesses, and provide job opportunities as the retirement villages’ populations expand.

More sites secured for private retirement housing

RVG also expanded its portfolio, acquiring two new sites as part of a £200 million pound expansion programme to develop more than 5000 new independent living resident units in the South East of England, subject to planning permission.

A busy year to look back on and an exciting 2018 ahead.

On behalf of RVG, the very best of wishes to everyone associated with the company for a good Christmas and a very happy New Year.
