Last week members of the Debden Grange community got together for an impromptu BBQ to welcome La Vern and Michael Frost to the community at Debden.
La Vern, who is Australian, and Michael, who is English, originally joined the community on a rent to buy scheme. They spend six months of the year in Australia and the rest of the time here in the UK. The motivation for moving to Debden was simple. They wanted to be part of an active and interesting community, with bars and restaurants, whilst being free to enjoy everything about their active lifestyle. But, they also wanted to safe in the knowledge when they go to Australia, everything to do with their property was safe and secure, no worries about gardening, window cleaners and all the other things that come with owning a home.
Number 10 was the very first place they looked at when considering their move. The couple found the community incredibly welcoming and are delighted to have completed on their property. La Vern loves to make the most of the restaurant and regularly invites people to join them for lunch.
La Vern comments, “A Friday evening gathering in sunshine at No 10. Hope we don’t get fined!!! We feel so settled here already and love to socialise. We were celebrating completion of buying our cottage after moving in originally on the Rent-to –buy Scheme and what better way than welcoming our neighbours round to share the news.”
