Rosemary moved to Debden Grange in March. She has been settling into her new property and the independent lifestyle available in the community now feels like home, allowing her to enjoy her retirement in her own way.
Debden Grange first popped up on Rosemary’s radar, as an independent retirement living option, when her daughter spotted an advert for it in the local press and suggested a visit. It was important to Rosemary that she stayed local. She has eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren who she loves to visit whenever she can, so being close by to her family was very important. One of her daughters is at Saffron Walden, which is a 15-minute drive, her other daughter is at Linton and her son is at Little Chesterford.
During her visit to Debden Grange, she toured the grounds, and meet the team and some of the other residents in the community. Rosemary chose an apartment in the main building of Debden House. It’s on the corner so has a patio where she is building up a collection of pots for some refreshing colour in the garden. Her apartment has a double-aspect living space, so she can have the sun at breakfast with her morning coffee and on the patio in the evening if she fancies sitting out with a glass of wine or a good book.
After moving in she got settled quickly as everyone in the community is so friendly. As a social character, she has joined several clubs, including bridge, book club, and a chair exercise class to keep her moving. Rosemary comments, “My diary is rather full! I’m delighted to have found a retirement community so close to my family, where there’s plenty of things to get involved in when I’m not out visiting my grandchildren.”
