Although not part of the community itself, Vivary Park is next to Blagdon, and is a popular choice for residents to take a walk or listen to the music from the bandstand during the summer concert season.
Stroll through the park straight into Taunton, which offers a wide choice of shops, bars, restaurants, and visitor attractions.
A big fan of the outdoors?
Blagdon offers a great base from which to explore many beautiful parts of the South West of England. If you want to get out into the countryside, the popular Exmoor National Park and the Quantock, Blackdown and Mendip Hills are all within easy reach. The Somerset Levels and the famous Cheddar Gorge are also just a short drive away.
Soak in the fresh sea air
The community offers stunning coastlines within easy reach on both the Bristol Channel and the English Channel sides; explore the nearby beaches of Lyme Regis and Weston Super Mare.
Inland, there are some stunning hills and gorges, and the lovely towns of Wellington, Glastonbury, Bridgwater, Wells, Ilminster and Stepton Mallet.

The local bus also passes right outside the entrance to the village.
There are regular direct trains from Taunton Railway Station to London, Bristol and even Edinburgh.
If you’re leaving the area by car the M5 will take you down to Exeter and up to Bristol easily. This is a fantastic spot from which to explore Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, and Somerset.
